Carl J. Rachal is a personal injury trial attorney with over 29 years’ experience.  His practice focuses exclusively on serious personal injury and wrongful death cases involving 18-wheeler and automobile accidents, premise liability and general injury law.

Carl graduated from The University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL) in 1991 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. While at USL, he was a student-athlete and 3 year letterman on the baseball team as an outfielder.  In 1995, he earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from The Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he graduated with honors in the Top 10 of his law school class.  In 1996, he earned a Masters of Law Degree (LLM) in Taxation from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, where his focus was on taxation of small businesses.

Carl began his law career in Lake Charles, Louisiana at a family law firm where he handled a myriad of cases, including personal injury, criminal defense, worker’s compensation and family law.  Very quickly, he found his niche in representing people and handling personal injury cases and focused his practice in that field.  In 2011, after getting married, he returned home and moved his practice to Lafayette and has been focused on helping the people of Lafayette Parish and the surrounding areas.  He has a healthy trial experience and vast knowledge in handling all aspects of the personal injury practice.

Carl was born in Chicago, Illinois, but has called Lafayette home since 1982.  Currently, he resides in Lafayette with his wife of 13 years, Monique, and their 2 dogs.  Carl’s passions include his family, The New Orleans Saints, Ragin Cajun athletics, lowering his golf handicap and animal rescue.
